About Clark

I started operations and fundraising early in my student years, as a founder and group leader at the University of Michigan. I created and ran student groups, wrote letters and organized events to connect with alumni, and learned skills that would later develop into a passionate career.

 

A year after graduating, I found myself in Washington, D.C., searching through job boards. It became obvious that fundraising was in high demand, as one third of all postings were for business development staff. My college experience helped me get my foot in the door—turns out, nonprofits have databases that need to be optimized, thank you letters that are waiting to be written and sent out in time, internal structures must be regularly optimized, and I was the man
for the job.

 

My role expanded by raising my hand for jobs that needed to get done. I worked my way up from calling donors and managing the database, to writing foundation proposals and reports, accounting, volunteer management, event planning, and, eventually, team leadership, major gift officer, and on and on. Fast forward to fifteen years later, I have raised over $50 million as a Director of Development, Vice President, COO, and now co-founder of this business.
